Something has changed.

Last edited Sat Jul 4, 2020, 03:26 PM - Edit history (1)

I have been wearing anti-Trump T-shirts from the beginning. I always got a few compliments, mostly from women. Most women always hated Trump.

Over the past month or more people have been stopping me, telling me they like my shirts, men and women. The number of compliments has increases dramatically over the past month. People have had enough of Trump, I can see it.

first time I wore it out we went to a Pizza Hut buffet. Actually forgot I had it on.

This big, rough looking guy comes over to our table. "Your shirt" he says "let me shake your hand."

He was followed by about half a dozen others and a message from the cook and the wait staff.

Makes me feel like I was right along. Bush was just a pretty face who didn’t even have a strong ideology, he just thought it would be cool to be President. Unfortunately, Cheney really was in control of everything for about the first 6 years until Bush figured it out and got pissed and refused to go along sometimes (example, not pardoning Scooter Libby).

Cheney is a ruthless ideological conservative who did a lot of bad things. But even he doesn’t measure up to Trumps vile evilness -a failed human being.

Drove past one house that must have had 4 huge trump flags flying. Saw one car with, "trump 2020" soaped all over the rear window.

I'm wondering if I should take my life in my hands and put out Biden and McGrath signs. My husband hid my Biden bumper sticker so I couldn't put it on the truck. He doesn't want the tires slashed.

Jul 2020

My right wing evangelical co-worker, a 70 yr old female, told me rump was wrong to hold rally, said he did it to feed his ego at the expense of people's lives. Repeated several times "he was wrong." (Music to my ears)

And She said this when I jokingly asked if she planned to attend any of his rallys, as we were discussing and agreeing with the importance of wearing masks. She is very fearful of covid and wears a mask religiously. Lol. Also her daughter is an RN in Mississippi, so she gets first hand reports and good medical advice.

She gave her notice last week, felt vulnerable and uncomfortable coming in contact with some customers who refuse to wear masks. This was before our governor ordered masks are required, not just recommended. We work in a retail setting. Our bosses supply us with 4 ply cotton masks, which will provide more protection than single or double ply.

Can't say she won't vote for him again, but maybe she'll vote for Biden or just not vote.
That was my impression.

Glad to hear and see some folks finally seeing his incompetence, and how he requires ego stroking at the expense of people's lives, and really does not lead well, and does not care, or cares only for himself.

45. She'd wanted to cut her hours even before covid
Sun Jul 5, 2020, 01:08 AM
Jul 2020

Because her IRA income recently kicked in at 70 1/2, and she was concerned that her increased income would make her ineligible for a program where she gets an expensive medicine at a greatly subsidized rate.

So she already wanted to leave, or reduce hours. And she is especially nervous, anxious and concerned about getting the virus. Says if she got it she's sure it would kill her, as she has many preexisting conditions, is overweight ( not by much), and is over 70. Being so fearful isn't good for her, physically or emotionally.

And she can afford to not work. I know some elders need to work to supplement income, and many also work to remain productive, useful, or have social interactions, but this co-worker's not going to be strained financially. She does do zoom meetings from church, but has not been to services even though they resumed almost 2 months ago.

But you're right, many elders and people of all ages have been forced to make some hard choices regarding working and feeling (somewhat) safe. Since older folks are more at risk for death, they may choose to retire from their part time job for safety reasons.

I feel especially bad for the ones that don't have internet access, because zoom, YouTube, etc. have helped to keep folks connected.

People are tired of his antics and his crazy shit, particularly in the face of a national crises that's literally killing people. For some, it's just not funny, interesting or view worthy anymore. I hope some have discovered that voting is a very serious matter, not to be taken lightly and never, EVER to be used as a protest. It's a dangerous world out there and leadership of our country is not the place for nut-o-rama or amateur hour. A pity 130K+ Americans had to die before many our our citizens got their collective heads out of their asses.

Mine is forest-green, not black.

It's several years old and the first time I wore it, I got some weird comment from a waiter at a favorite restaurant here in Jacksonville. Time to break it out again.

Meanwhile, I planted a campaign sign for Donna Deegan -- a 3x cancer survivor who runs a foundation -- and is running against Representative(!) John "Barney Fife" Rutherford. On my daily walks through the neighborhood I see a LOT of Donna yard signs around. Haven't seen the first Rutherford yard sign. Even so, when I got it, I bought two of them -- in case the first one is vandalized or removed. (My little secret: the sign is within view and range of my Ring doorbell-camera. If anyone touches it, I'm going to post that video on social media sites and ask the city to investigate). So far, so good!

The endless dismantling of protections of Americans and of our environment; the endless corruption from A to Z; the endless ways Trump has devised ways to line his pockets with U.S. Treasury cash (renting golf carts to the Secret Service in order to protect his as$?, among other things); the idiotic, blatant daily lies in the face of the obvious truth; the utter indifference to the health and well-being of the American people, such as destroying regulations to protect the environment in countless ways, his ongoing efforts to destroy the Affordable Care Act to be replaced with nothing but GOP hot gas; the locking up of children in cages; the willful waste of billions on a ridiculous border wall that will never be completed; his blatant racism, misogyny, et al; the dumbing down of government agencies by banishing career professionals and replacing them with clueless political hacks; the hollowing out of the State Department; the destruction of America's relationship with crucial allies; the trashing of international treaties for world peace; the complete inaction and paralysis towards the management of the Coronavirus pandemic in this country; the utter atrocity of Trump's claims that he's saved lives from the virus while so many Americans suffer untold grief for lost loved ones; Trump's ongoing career as a traitor and Putin suck up, who willfully looked the other way as American soldiers were slaughtered by Putin/Afghan bounty hunters.

Trump will *never* live down his legacy as being the worst president in the history of the United States of America. Hasta la vista, Bunker B!tch!
