(22,911 posts)After that god awful reference to Custer this was not quite as offensive as I suspected, but still bad. However after that Custer lead in, I urge you to watch this song to the end. It absolutely is a true story Tom is sharing about his grandmother that always sends chills down my spine to hear:

(4,656 posts)Like last night's invasion of the land by the orange monster, I just found the Calamity Jane lyrics offensive; calling it "Indian country" and then referring to it gleefully as their own home. But I know what you mean about Doris Day. Sigh.

Doris Day remained fiercely loyal and close to her friend Rock Hudson throughout his struggle with AIDS at a time when it was far from "fashionable" to do so.
