Does anyone else wonder if Trump will have his face projected onto Mount Rushmore tonight?

He'd need the approval of his Interior Department, but I doubt he'd have trouble getting that.

Personally, I'd consider it desecration.

There are good reasons for projecting other faces onto Mount Rushmore, like the one described in this Washington Post article:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/06/05/19th-amendment-anniversary-celebration-will-put-women-mount-rushmore-temporarily/

Last November, Christina Korp was at dinner in Los Angeles talking with friends about the upcoming centennial of the 19th Amendment, which gave some women the right to vote. The amendment’s 100th anniversary deserved a big celebration, Korp believed, and she knew a bit about marking significant events. Last year, she produced the Apollo 50th Gala at the Kennedy Space Center.

Korp, an entertainment industry veteran, said she wanted to create some type of visual mosaic to honor the anniversary this August, prompting her friend to joke that Korp, a South Dakota native, should put images of women on the facade of Mount Rushmore in her home state. Korp took it seriously.

In late August and early September, Korp’s project, “Look Up to Her,” will become one of a number of ways the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission will mark the anniversary, along with a commemorative coin and medal produced by the U.S. Mint and a virtual event at the Kennedy Center. She’ll project the images of 14 female leaders of the suffrage and civil rights movements on Mount Rushmore, including women who never themselves got the right to vote.

For two weeks, Abigail Adams, Sojourner Truth, Clara Barton, Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Ida B. Wells, Alice Paul, Jeannette Rankin, Gladys Pyle, Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, Zitkala-Sa, Nellie Tayloe Ross and Rosa Parks will be projected in pairs flanking Mount Rushmore’s four presidents — George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt — in several-minute increments.

-snip-

But if Trump tries anything like this, I hope he gets even more pushback than he got for the photo op at the church a month ago.

Trump's Face = Desecration, dishonor and disrespect which stands in full contrast to at least the meaning and intent of Mt. Rushmore.

Tyrants do stunts like this and call their abuse and insults to a country heritage, etc. They attempt to equate themselves with words that have a shared meaning for people, yet act in opposite ways. It's a hijack.

Mt. Rushmore is one of America's "sacred" monuments. It would be like Trump projecting his face onto the Lincoln Memorial or the Washington monument.

We know that he's incredibly stupid, but trying to project his face alongside the presidents on Rushmore would crash through stupid, insane, and even dementia.

Trump may lose this November in the biggest landslide in history. Pulling a stunt like this would ensure that landslide becomes a reality. And hopefully, it will include the total ousting of the Republican Party.

It didn't occur to me that one could project an image on the Mt.. But Trump being the showman and narcissist he is - all of a sudden it makes sense to me that he might do just that.

It would be a desecration of that monument. In my mind it would be equivalent to pulling down the statues around the country that now he's trying to protect.

It would also be the biggest mistake he could make in his campaigning for re-election.

It would seal the deal for his loss in November.

be positioned so that a White House photographer can perfectly line up his face to that of those on the monument, and we will see it over and over and over again.

Though I still think they won't let them stop them - perhaps a photo shoot prior - it's just too good of a shot to not try and get and I can almost hear Trump demanding it.
