2) Republicans and conservatives have been going after the USPS for some time (for other reasons entirely) .. and long before mail in voting became the issue that it is today.

you have to try out the interweb .. it's great!

of a grudge (on Trump's part), and a bias (on Rs part) that long precede the election cycle. Or, to be more succinct .. long before mail in voting became the focus that it currently is.

They have always wanted to privatize the Postal Service.

And it will cause lots of problems with VBM.

they can try to get rid of the post office (except for the problem that it’s constitutionally mandated) or they can try to make vote by mail illegal or not allowed for everyone. The problem is that old, white Republicans and Trump and his cronies vote by mail.

The Donald might have some particular maggot in his brain (who really knows -- can the Donald really hold a thought in his brain for -- oh, wait, is this Tues.?), but you'd really have to stretch out to call it a plan. And, yes, Republican operatives have been actively involved and pushing any one of dozens of voter suppression schemes -- and the USPS might conceivably fall into that category -- but, once again, only as late comers to an ongoing years long effort.

Also -- once again -- voting rules (including mail in ballots and voting) are largely determined by the states. So -- Donnie's "mad" really isn't much of a determining factor. Is mail in voting going to be a big thing in November? Almost certainly. But the states are the ones that will be playing puppet master and pulling the strings. Once again -- look to what is going on in your statehouse -- they're the ones that are (or aren't?) playing a game of three card monte.

The Post Office is part of the US Constitution.

All he can do is write weird executive orders, but he can't eliminate it or completely defund it or anything drastic.

that anyone would think that the Postal Service of the US could be intentionally rendered ineffective between now and the election.

Of course the Republicans can't stand the people having something basically at cost, they want to privatize the system because they want to make money off of everything, but it will be an uphill battle.
