Julios has been in Omaha for 40 years and run by the Mainelli family throughout those years. They survived a lot, but this virus did them in. They had good food, but service did slip quite a lot. It is to bad though and I am sure well sell a lot more close too! Thanks to the Mainelli family, you did Omaha proud!

(6,843 posts)I grew up in New Mexico on Chile and sopapillas, beans with Chicos, and posole. I tried Hectors, El Bees, and La Mex then decided it all sucked and midwestern palates must enjoy shitty, bland, Mexican food.
Did I miss something? Was this the real deal?

(778 posts)It was very good also, although saying it was the best Tex-Mex in Des Moines would invite an argument. However, they had an open mic jazz jam on Sunday nights that was incredible. One of my favorite hangouts of all time. It closed a long time ago, that was a sad day for DM.
