(9,660 posts)I keep it on my DVR. But anytime it's on TV I sit down and watch it anyway. It's an absolute love letter to Star Trek.
Alan Rickman.
"I see you've managed to get your shirt off."
I don't know why, but every time he says that line, I fall out of my chair laughing.

Guy Fleegman: I'm not? Then what's my last name?
Jason Nesmith: It's... uh... uh... I don't know.
Guy Fleegman: Nobody knows. Do you know why? Because my character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in!
Gwen DeMarco: Guy, you have a last name.
Guy Fleegman: DO I? DO I? For all you know, I'm Crewman Number Six! Mommy... mommy...

(38,458 posts)The name of that episode..is "..Arena.." First broadcast on Jan 19, 1967...One of the best...(in my opinion)
More info on this episode...at link below......My guess is the crew is walking around the planet described at the link that was destroyed by the Gorn..Cestus III.Yes, I have seen them all,..(from Original Series)... many times..
Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series)...................................
"The Enterprise comes under attack by unknown aliens while investigating the near destruction of the Cestus III colony. While chasing the aliens into unexplored space, both ships are captured by the powerful Metrons, who force Kirk and the alien captain (later identified as a member of the Gorn race) to trial by combat: the winner's vessel will be set free, while the loser's ship will be destroyed.[3]"
At the link below, you can see some pictures from this episode...As I said, One of the very best...& surprise ending...

(37,166 posts)...if you've seen it 30 times.
And I probably hit that mark by 1982 via syndicated reruns.
Yes, it's unquestionably Arena. It was the only use of that set.

(38,458 posts)....They had a Star Trek Convention here (in Chicago Area) in the 80s some time..Don't remember when?..and
Nichelle Nichols gave a talk to the crowd..Amazing.. I bought a script from one of the Next Generation shows, but I put it somewhere, don't know where. There were lots of comic book fans there, but I was/and still am a Star Trek Fan. Didn't become a real fan until sometime in the 70s, when I watched the reruns. Then, and only then, did I realize what a great series it is..
.... At a different convention, in the late 80s, or early 90s..Capt Pickard was there. When you go back that far, you go back very far..I remember the reason that I bought a video tape machine back then, was to tape episodes of the Next Generation....on and on it goes...Warp 9..
