Thursdays Coronavirus Updates: More than 10,100 new cases in Florida, 11-year-old child dies from virus
As of 11 a.m. Thursday, there have been 169,106 positive cases of the coronavirus in the state. The case count includes 166,303 Florida residents and 2,803 non-Florida residents. There are 3,617 Florida resident deaths reported, 101 non-resident deaths Iand 15,150 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Department of Health.
There have been 2,033,794 tests administered in Florida. A total of 169,106 tests have come back positive, and 1,863,077 tests have come back negative. The remainder are still pending or inconclusive, according to the FDOH website.
An 11-year-old boy from Miami-Dade County has died from the virus, as reported by the state, making him the youngest person to die from COVID-19 in the state. He had no known travel or contact with another positive case.

Sorry to hear about the 11 year old. Very sad.

(10,588 posts)New York's highest was 11,661 (according to Worldmeter.com - April 15). I'm sure Florida will break it soon. Next week should be interesting with the holiday likely causing late reporting.

It's bad. But we need to know. And we need to stay informed. If nothing else, we need it for "ammo" when arguing with - and OUT-arguing - trumpers.

(65,185 posts)Montgomery County, PA still had less than 50 new community spread cases, but with nursing homes, the total was 62.
