Rodino is directly behind LBJ and Javits is in between Rodino and Dr King.

Do I see Strom Thurmond in the back? (the joke being that he was likely home firing his black housekeepers as this pic was taken).

20 presidents held office between Lincoln and Johnson. And none of them got a civil rights bill passed.

He predicted that signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would cause the Democratic Party to lose the South for a generation.

It’s been THREE GENERATIONS.

I am still glad that he did it. It was the right thing to do.
