Biden hit a homerun with his news conference today.

His "Elvis" strategy is working brilliantly.

He has been accused of hiding in his basement, but under present pandemic conditions, he is scheduling his news conferences at strategic times and, like Elvis, this leaves his supporters wanting more.

Compared to Trump, who has his mug all over the media, Biden is making his appearances as needed, but still adhering to the restrictions in place because of the virus, He is setting an example for the people to follow.

If Biden continues this strategy, he will remain up in the polls and Trump will continue to shrink, in my opinion.

I am glad that for whatever reason he is getting more air time recently

I agree with the point of letting trump flail around being hateful and stupid most of the time, but well timed counter punches are important for the contrast.

And he’s been doing that very effectively recently.

And if he sees his opponent jumping all over the place wasting energy, his strategy may be to wait for the right moment and do the knockout with a few strategic blows.

Either he wears a mask or he contradicts he own agencies in the middle of a surging pandemic.
What's worse for the Con is that Biden took the virus seriously from day one.

I've felt he was a political rope-a-dope for a long time.

The pertinent question is who are the Republicans really going to run?

When a reporter asked him about the Russian bounty story, Biden pointed out that if Trump didn't read the president's daily briefing, or read it and did nothing, either way is "dereliction of duty".

His Elvis strategy. LOL.

Hadn't heard that description before but you're right. Whatever works. Right now these Biden bursts are highlighting the difference between hollow bellowing and clear messaging on the current issues. And yes, people are hungry for more examples of what leadership looks and sounds like, of how a genuine human being behaves with grace, generosity and knowledge.

The contrast couldn't be more stark.

So keep your Elvis thing going, Joe. It's working.

They're not moving a train load of people around the country for rallies, or shelling out big bucks for facility rental, insurance, security, etc.

He also hasn't had to spend much on advertising to get his numbers to this level.

Abiding by the CDC guidelines has been a winning strategy for Joe Biden.

I presume the campaign will shift gears with more small outdoor gatherings soon. After today's press conference, that's the next logical step

facility rentals, security, extra policing. He blows into town, riles up the natives and leaves the cities holding the bag. He owes hundreds of thousands to many, many cities in this country. Bills are for little people, doncha know? This is his way of life. He really hit the jackpot with this president gig, even flying to Florida free. So, it costs taxpayers millions each time. He is God - er - president.
