A little extra text helps a lot, either in the title or the post.

Moreover, plain twitter links are hard for people in certain computer environments.

There are users who post nothing but link to tweets

I had noticed those users just about never reply in their own threads or any threads for that matter

They have zero interest in discussion

But, I'd also add video-link only posts. And I find the second two groups far more annoying than those posting tweets, for which the content is usually obvious, even if you don't want to watch any embedded video.


Some of the posts that have stirred the most conversation lately have been those based on tweets of an article in a paper (e.g., NYT) with a strong pay-wall as well as those expressing opinions on topical issues from renowned experts (e.g., constitutional scholars like Laurence Tribe). Those are very useful, IMO.
