This is not getting attention proportionate to the damage it is causing.

Mitch McConnell has refused to hold vote on restoring Voting Rights Act for 200 days but Senate GOP just confirmed anti-voting rights extremist Cory Wilson of Mississippi to 5th Circuit as Trump’s 200th federal judge

Thank god, the election is near. If Trump gets enough of these judges appointed, it won't matter if we have a Dem President, House, and Senate. All Republicans will have to do to make legislation they don't like go away is challenge it in court. Judges control everything. Will Democratic voters ever start taking this seriously?

Edit to add: No more places left on appeals courts .

NEWS: Trump notches his 200th lifetime federal judge and fills the very last appeals court vacancy nationwide.

He's filled the nation’s appeals courts (mini Supreme Courts, if you will) with dozens of white men — and zero Black judges.

And start impeachment of judges who are not qualified.

Congress can also make changes to court districts and number of judges. It’s time to start playing with the same rule book.

Judicial impeachments are extremely rare - they would have a difficult time removing a partisan hack if he or she has done nothing wrong while a judge other than you not liking their rulings.

Expanding the circuit courts & appellate courts would be the way to go, I think.

There was a time when the Democratic Party owned that rule book and could bare knuckle brawl with anyone. I miss those days. I do love those who advocate for going high when they go low. I truly do. But there comes a time...and we've long passed that time...that when they go low, we bury the mother fuckers. There isn't a single one of these psychos Donnie has appointed that doesn't have a closet bursting with skeletons. Dig up the dirt and impeach the bastards. Every damn one of them. Starting with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. I'm glad Neil Gorsuch saw the light on the recent LGBTQ ruling....but sorry, Neil. You're sitting in Merrick Garland's seat.

It worked so well, they are bringing to the whole country.

People on Du used to say Wisconsin got what it deserved. Still thinking it now that their courts, voter suppression and gerrymandering-are taking over US?

...backed down in return for not going massively nuclear and adding more judges to the court.

I think we have to go massively nuclear here including the appeals courts. This damage is so severe and we can’t do half measures by playing fair with serial killers.

I even look up the political affiliations of the elected judges in Ohio to vote for the Democrats, since Ohio doesn't list their parties on the ballots.

It is ridiculous that it can take two or more years to get a hearing for some appeals. And when a house of Congress can’t wait for a court decision on the enforcement of a subpoena because it would take two years, there is something significantly wrong. Our population has grown but our court system does not reflect that. We currently have 12 federal circuit courts plus DC. Perhaps we should look at how many people are covered by each federal circuit court and add some to regions that have seen the most population growth. It makes perfect sense to do this after we have the data from the census. And since each SC justice handles last-minute requests for stays and oversees one or more circuit courts, perhaps there would be a need to add SC justices as well.

The ther thing that would help ease the clogging of our courts is to decriminalize the use of drugs. We have wasted billions on the war on drugs for no measurable improvements but a lot of family destruction, especially in the black community. The only people benefitting from the war on drugs are the Mexican cartels. Prohibition didn’t work and neither is this drug war. Just continuing to do the same things that haven’t worked for fifty years seems pretty stupid to me.

Really. What's not to understand about that reality? Might as well blame whoever's being blamed here for not shutting down gravity.

Now, those don't want Republicans running the senate could always have done something about that. Like saving for the future, voting to keep as many as possible out of power is best started when young, but hopefully it's still not too late to learn just how important that is.
