Jill Stein cost Hillary dearly in 2016. Democrats are still writing off her successor.

Politico

The Green Party is set to nominate Howie Hawkins, a Democratic socialist making an explicit play for disaffected Bernie voters.

ill Stein still haunts Hillary Clinton’s campaign team.

“Oh woof. I can’t bear to talk about that,” said former communications director Jennifer Palmieri.

For good reason: Had voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin cast their ballots for Clinton rather than the Green Party’s Stein, Clinton would be president.

Now, with the Green Party set to elevate its presumptive nominee — Howie Hawkins, a longtime labor activist keen on attracting disillusioned Bernie Sanders voters and calling for a “#DemExit” — many Democrats are unfazed. Not to worry, they say: Trump will be a sufficiently mobilizing force for Democrats this time around.

Kind pitiful that Politico writers can't grab a headline with Stein's name alone .

They'd get nowhere without Hillary!

Hoping we don't do that again and get trump for 4 more years and two or three more Supreme Court nominations.

Shouldn't Hawkins be able to run on his own merit without invoking the division from 2016?

Seems Stein & Hillary was placed in the headline to draw attentiin to Hawkins.

I find that rather poor journalism & would have been more interested in reading a header introducing me to Hawkins had they omitted the headline grabbing names of Stein & Clinton, & extoled the virtues of Hawkins himself.

But it is classic Politico, so ..meh 🙄

The division continues with amateur journalism like this.
All I'm sayin.
It's not 2016 anymore.

going in the trash...don't give a damn about The Green Party...I think Democrats now realize that voting Green is voting Republican in the real world. And the left- many who dislike and attack the Democratic Party- are going to find themselves with little power if they are not careful. Democrats are going to have to depend on moderates for winning elections. After all, it was moderates who took back the house and helped us win important elections. these last three years. All I see on the left is some going after safe Democratic seats in safe Democratic areas ...desperate for a win I think.

The Stein supporters I knew were never going to vote for HRC. They'd a more likely voted for Trump. Most would have just written in someone like Bernie or something.

In any event, some people just need to get over the sound defeat of their messiah in fair primary elections and line up to support Joe Biden.

Even in their privileged cocoon, they should realize that their tantrum created a Nazi resurrection, put children in cages, separated infants from their parents, cops are killing minorities like it is hunting season, wealthy are getting tax cuts while leaving poor people behind, the environment is fucked up and rule of law and democratic institutions are being wrecked.

Hillary saw it coming. Kudos to her.
