Yay!!! I just got back from my first protest for BLM.

I was getting gas and saw a lot of people with signs and asked if I could join them and they said of course. Someone gave me a sign and to make it even better I happened to be wearing my BIDEN 2020 mask. It was great.

I was very surprised that more people than not driving by were in our favor. A few flip offs, rude comment, and my favorite a BA but mostly support. I am amazed because I live in one of the redder counties in SouthWest Washington.

I have the contacts now to attend more protests so I am excited to be able to be there now to support BLM.

On a "final word" we had a police officer drive past us who waved and gave us a thumbs up. Don't forget about the good police officers. The bad ones put them on the back burner.

I forgot to mention, everybody had a mask and were trying to practices proper distancing.

2. I think there was somewhere in the ball park of 60 to 80 people

at the one I attended. Food was being offered but I had eaten just before I started so I was not hungry. I am glad they were offering food for each other.

3. my ex and i served on the nclb parent advisory board at my kid's school

years ago. i always had food. it was in the budget, and we were frugal. big fruit plates from costco, and giant pizzas. got some shit from the few other parents on the board at first, but we were supposed to spend the money.
when daley the younger urged parents to walk their kids to school on the first day, we took over the cafeteria, and served them breakfast.

i later met the woman who came after us, and she was- oh you. you are why these people think i am the caterer.

i think i talked her down, tho. we met at the house of a dear friend, and she vouched for my character.

4. I wasn't able to participate today, but heard a lot of horns honking...

I went out on the porch and saw the protest going by, on the other side of the street, in the rain. Gave a lot of applause and 'thumbs-up' to them as they passed. Though it ended, so I went back inside, and then I heard horns again. Went back out, and there were more people. Realized that what was happening was that they were abiding by the red light at the corner, so they were coming through in bunches.

Lots of bunches.

A freaking WHOLE LOT of bunches.

There were people with signs walking by for over a half hour, with a lot of support from the drivers going by on this busy street.

People of all ages and races. Families with kids ranging from infants in carriers to teenagers. All wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

It was beautiful; I got a little choked up at one point watching this neighborhood in quiet, respectful protest.

6. Yeah

We were obeying street lights and entrances to businesses also. We did not want to cause problems, we were there to work at stopping them. It was fun to be around intelligent like minded people.
