Trump to restart MAGA rallies this month despite coronavirus
The president and his team believe the massive protests in recent weeks will make it harder for critics to single him out.

Donald Trump is planning to restart rallies in the next two weeks in a major turning point for the president since the coronavirus shut down traditional campaigning.
Trumps advisers are still determining where the rallies will take place and what safety measures will be implemented, depending on the type of venue chosen. Campaign manager Brad Parscale is expected to present Trump with possibilities within the next few days.
The president has been itching to resume his boisterous rallies, his favorite way to connect with supporters and let off steam. He's planning to use the events to drive home what is expected to be a major theme of his campaign: that he is the leader of the countrys reopening and economic rebound. Trump held a hastily-called press conference Friday to celebrate an unexpectedly strong jobs report, and his campaign immediately began running a massive ad campaign seizing on the news.

Also, people protesting and marching are young while MAGA Suckers are usually older

(31,261 posts)Like it or not, this race is going to come down to a war of attrition between us and them.
If Biden's team has not thought about how to hold rallies, they are making a gigantic tactical mistake. Our rallies can require that everyone that gets admitted wear a mask PROPERLY and keep it on during the rally. Hand sanitizer should also be offered. Anyone that comes to the entry point without a mask properly worn get turned around, no questions asked. Biden can couple his rally with that of key State and national candidates on stage, make the gathering efficient. Trump is unable to share a state if it isn't about him, so our diwn ballot candidates can gain a tactical advantage over their rivals.
We need to set a contrast, people being responsible versus them.
They are gambling that SARS-COV-2 will disappear, or at least not kill a lot of them. While we should not take the insane risks that they are taking, we also can stay in our homes and let them dictate the imagery.

(251 posts)Trumps going to say you folks didn't complain when the protests were going on.
So Trump can have his rallies or the liberals are being hypocrites.
I did complain about the protests and hope it doesn't start another COVID splurge.
But the left is being hypocritical here IMO.

(90,202 posts)...uprising of millions of outraged citizens of all ethnicities. Millions. People have had it up to their teeth with Trump's bullshit and with the systemic and unequal savagery of our police.
Without throwing a wet blanket on the outcry of millions, there have been people, both here in our DU community (which is not "the left" -- we are, as the name says, Democrats across a spectrum) and in the more rational voices commenting in the media (which is also not "the left" ) that people at protests are putting their health at risk.
We've discussed it here. One of the phrases from an MSNBC contributor that struck me was: "A virus doesn't care how noble your cause is" so take what precautions you can.
Twice in this thread you've accused us of "hypocracy." (That's hypocrisy, btw.) I urge you to rethink that -- or thoroughly explain what it is you see that strikes you as hypocritical.

This is what I was afraid of. And the media will be complicit in that narrative.

(31,261 posts)the coronavirus was doing. I also feel that Biden's team need to figure out how to hold rallies.
The fact is, this race will come down to image. If Trump is out holding rallies and Joe is at home, Joe is going to look weak and that won't be good.

Let's don't be like them and justify our own sides BS and hypocrisy.
And if you say my cause is better than yours then self-righteousness is worst than hypocracy
