Mr. George Floyd was positive for the coronavirus.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office has released their full and final autopsy report on the death of George Floyd, noting that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but it was not a contributing factor in his death.

I really do hope those cops suffer a horrible bout of Covid-19.

I hope they can't breathe.

And as we know, people of color are disproportionately on death row. No civilized society should condone the death penalty. I thought this was a progressive forum but now we have people at DU advocating for the death penalty?

I am against it in ALL cases. Glad though that the murder charge was upgraded. If convicted, they will spend a good amount of time in jail.

And I would like to see the cop get life without parole. But we know from history that sometimes it's better in the long run to bring a lesser charge with a better chance of conviction. A 2nd degree conviction should land him with major time in jail.

It has been known for a while that some people are test positive after converting to negative, but it is not yet determined whether the return to being positive also means they are infectious again (or will display symptoms again, etc.)

It has not been determined whehter people who test positive again after the initial infection has vanished are infectious. That's one of several mysteries about this disease. Most people who recover from viral infections don't test positive again. Some with COVID 19 do. Most people who have had a viral infection are immune to it (particularly if they develop antibodies). We don't know yet if that is true for COVID 19.
