4. And Republicans fought with every dirty trick in the book to keep her on life support

They demonstrated without any information about Terri Schiavo's condition, holding up signs that said "Feed Terri" and giant spoons, which would have dispatched her body to the Great Beyond. Republican politicians, including the Senate Majority Leader, Dr. Frist, weighed in with completely uninformed medical opinions based on 10 seconds of carefully-barbered videotape. They fought through the state and federal courts to overturn the legal rights of Terri's long-suffering husband in favor of Terri's parents who couldn't come to terms with their daughter's demise. They tortured Terri and her husband for years in the name of "pro life" and congratulated each other on their piety.

Still sickening when I think about it today.

so why shouldn't the rest of us die for Wall Street?
