That playbook seems pretty straightforward indeed. And it's hard to divorce this from what sure looks like an attempt by some Sanders die-hards to get through a media-driven scandal what they couldn't get via democratic means: their guy as the nominee.

I was not super familiar with Nathan Robinson. Krystal Ball and her buddy at RISE are just ideologues and annoying. Mhedi Hasan is very disappointing. He has done some good work. His piece on Biden in Deconstruct is piss poor.

I guarantee if Bernie had won or was trouncing Biden, some woman from back in the day would surface and accuse him of sexual assault as well, and it would be these very same people condemning the DNC and media and Biden supporters who would be saying, "this is all a conspiracy to take down Bernie because they have to destroy the left.

Allegations should be taken seriously. They should be looked into. Tara Reade's were looked into by police AND by various journalists. Her stories were found to be lacking such that they decided it was not worth pursuing on its merits not on some conspiracy. You don't think Ronan Farrow would just back away from a #metoo situation?
