Online check-in: Besides choosing their seat or paying for checked bags, passengers might also need to upload a document to confirm the presence of COVID-19 antibodies before they fly.
Airport curbside: Passengers could be required to arrive at least four hours ahead of their flight, and pass through a "disinfection tunnel" or thermal scanner to check their temperature before being allowed to enter the airport.

(21,916 posts)Flying used to be sexy! The experience was exhilarating and passengers were mostly treated with great respect. In turn, passengers acted like conscientious adults. The food was better than decent and the overall experience was generally very positive.
Today, flying is like riding the crosstown bus. Planes are over-crowded, luggage is a ridiculous problem, many passengers are surly or thoughtless or overly self-involved and these are only some of the problems! The security screening process is de-humanizing, time consuming and of questionable efficacy. Airline schedules are often simply a joke. And the list goes on.
Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, I've found that if I'm traveling less than 750 miles, I'm often better off driving. The overall door-to-door time is usually only an hour or two longer and I determine my comfort level.
If these new rules are adopted, it will further decimate the airline industry.
