A Coronavirus Spreading Party (aka a "Freedom Gathering" will be conducted at the abandoned Shopko store in CDA from 1 pm to 2 pm. Hundreds of Trump worshippers will descend upon our beleaguered burg to call our Republican governor a communist, cry about the loss of their freedoms and contract a deadly disease. Expect Heather Scott, Idaho's Worst Embarrassment, to grace us with her presence.
Needless to say, I'll be taking a route to work on Sunday that doesn't pass that rally.

(23,239 posts)With Spokane opening up and CDA so close...this doesnt bode well for us here in western MT. Were still under 500 cases state wide. That wont last long with that craziness happening on the other side of the pass. Stay home and stay safe jmowreader.

(7,827 posts)I'm surrounded in the maskless Bitterroot and can only hope that an early fire season will bring them down to earth, a bit.
We have been lucky so far. But once they start traveling east we're sure to see an upward spike. IMHO we ought to close the border until better thinking can apply.

(23,239 posts)Youre right...the Bitterroot is a whole different world...my kiddo is a travel baseball player and we often play the Bitterroot Bucs. The kids are great but the parents?!?! Holy hell...how can we be that different and live 30 miles away from each other? Its crazy.
Stay strong neighbor.

(7,827 posts)Like parts of Idaho, Wyoming and Utah many who moved to western Montana were of the opinion that they were right with GOD and the rest of the world should leave them alone in their beliefs. Sadly they do not accept heathen sources of information, nor do they seem to understand that the laws of Gravity and Momentum apply to one and all regardless of magical belief or political affiliation. They do hold a contradictory belief that fewer trees and more cars will result in smaller Forest fires. They apparently didn't believe the news from Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Whew.

It will never dawn on them that the abandoned store is a casualty of their party's policies.
