At this time, when Americans should stand together against the attacks against our embassies overseas, the first move that Romney took was to exploit it politically.
Not only did he fail to act as a statesman, a diplomat or a leader, he acted as a political bomb thrower against the President while in the midst of an international crisis.
Outright lies are the first thing from Romney's lips, practically standing with the people who attacked America and American values. A totally outrageous act of partisanship, when all Americans should be standing with the President as he's confronting this situation in the Middle East.
This is an indication of Mitt Romney's poor judgement, a primer of what his FIRST priority would be if he was in the Oval Office dealing with a crisis of this own. Instead of using prudent words, in support of and in unison with our national leadership, he proffers lies and disloyalty to the nation with political opportunism.
Mitt Romney was given an opportunity to act as an American. Instead, he revealed himself again to be an utter scumbag.

(1,248 posts)but the "statement" to the Middle East from this American presidential candidate is that this film is an example of "American values". Good work Mitt.

(18,402 posts)These repeated statements about how the president refused to stand for American values is really bewildering.
Is he saying that it's an American value to disseminate hateful, untruthful venom about other people's religions? Would he feel that way if some crackpot made a junky video about Joseph Smith as a depraved maniac?
It's really an astounding, jaw-dropping statement. And nobody is talking about that aspect. I'm glad you noticed it, too.
