?1347461819Here's another look at the self-satisfied smirk on Mitt Romney's face after he attacked President Obama for sympathizing with America's attackers explained to America why he wasn't ready to be president:

(423 posts)I've seen that before and can't figure it out. I've seen other politicians wearing US flag pins where that same effect occurs. Must have something to do with lighting.

(53,339 posts)The U.S. Secret Service logo is superimposed on the flag. I've seen these pins worn by other protectees, so they may be something issued to all protectees.
Kindly Refrain
(423 posts)If the Secret Service can't identify their wards with out a little pin, they are truly screwed.
Care Acutely
(1,370 posts)No alteration of his pins.
Besides, I think it is a gold GOP elephant, not a star. I've seen the same pin on R house and senate members.

per here - http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/30/1125774/-Did-Paul-Ryan-Desecrate-the-American-Flag
I was thinking that it may have been a tiny elephant appliqué.
Care Acutely
(1,370 posts)The flag is not to be altered. Why do they hate America?

Outside of his little circle of family and friends the rest of the world is just a paper mache prop. No one else matters.

(3,350 posts)To the see the real opportunity to show some patriotism and humility by standing with the president and all Americans in this time of painful memories, old and new. In times like this I have seen this country show its true nature and close ranks, support each other and truly show the world that we are one nation.
Not that weasel though. Opportunistic, small-minded and selfish, not a man I want to be in this country much less run it.

Huntsman would probably be the best apart from low name recognition and Pawlenty would at least be no worse. But the others? Dr. Paul is a rank ideologue, Newt comes across as Rush Limbaugh, only Newt has half a brain, and the others just plain weird.
Yeah, Mitt is shining beacon among that bunch.
That's really pathetic. The GOP should be headed to the political wilderness for a long, long time, if they're lucky, or to the dust bin of history, if there's any justice.

(82 posts)He has his lapel pin, the dark suit, the flag on the blue background, looking real good and then he opens his mouth and sticks in both feet and fails. Such disrespect of our president and with information he knew to be false. Shame for Mitt the obtuse, even his party is cutting him loose.
