He would just say it's irrelevant what the film says, that he supports free speech, not just free speech he agrees with.

Just increase security, keep an eye on where the RW propaganda is going and make sure there's a stronger counterargument that cancels it out.

However, that does not mean it was right for him to do so. From what I can gather it is an offensive piece of garbage. Needlessly insulting others cherished beliefs will generally gain you nothing but their enmity. That being said, the proper response of those offended is not rioting and killing but rational discourse. Of course, rational discourse is far beyond the abilities of religious fundies of any stripe. The response of outraged Muslims is far more offensive to me than the original offense.
