That's what this pic says to me - he got off a potshot at the President, and he's really happy with it and he's looking at the audience because he's pretty sure they're all going to be proud of him too.

He has absolutely no sense of how inappropriate he's being. He is incapable of conceiving of the idea that he did something inappropriate - in Mitt's mind, if he did a thing, then that was the right thing to do.
