The UAE took it one step further. They use phone tracing for cases. However, they also instituted digital passes to leave home. In real time, they can literally control crowding even with vital services.
No digital pass, you are arrested and fined if you are outside your home.

(1,264 posts)in an attempt to foil the authorities? What if you "lost it behind the couch cushions" or "forgot it" or "thought it was in your purse" or "it stopped working"? Are you going to be caught or otherwise tracked? (Perhaps this is where the data from license plate recognition and face recognition and electronic bank transactions come into play.) Will you be interrogated as to why you're not carrying your personal tracking device?
(Does anyone remember when we didn't all carry tracking devices around with us all day?)
Sigh. I know, technology is neither good or bad, it's just how we use it. But sometimes it's still difficult to tell what is the good and what is the bad.
