Joe Klein (Morning Joe): "Iran getting the bomb wouldn't be nearly as bad as Pakistan having it."

"Netanyahu is cynically trying to interfere in the US election. This is NOT how friends behave."

He reminded everybody that Pakistan developed the bomb secretly without anybody's knowledge. The CIA learned about it in the news!

It's the delivery system for the bomb and its proximity to Israel. Iran may have a better capacity to develop a delivery system? Otherwise, I would tend to agree that Pakistan having the bomb is worse.

their own bomb to use as a deterrent and bargaining chip.

They would never use it unless attacked. Their own country (very developed and educated) would be in as much jeopardy as Israel, should the bomb ever be used.

Appearances to the contrary, they are not a nation of Islamic crazies, and are a much more stable state than Pakistan.

Iranians that I have known have been, however, still very aware of the way that the US meddled to end their first democracy. I think it was Kermit Roosevelt who intrigued to topple Mosadegh in Iran. We have yet to live that down. So, Iran is especially a problem, even a danger for the US. It isn't just related to Israel.

I hope we have more responsible voices speaking up and not another chorus of Judith Millers.
