I'm very disappointed that America is still in Afghanistan

I love my president, Barack Obama, and I appreciate all that he's doing, but am I being picky and unpatriotic if I wish the war in Afghanistan were over?

I'm not a one issue voter, and I will vote for Obama again, but I think about Afghanistan and our presence there, I even know a young man who has been over there for 4 years off an on, serving us in some capacity that even he can't explain to me.

When I asked him what he does over there, he says he can't talk about it, which is what most Americans say, they either can't or don't want to talk about it.

I just wish folks would ask a few basic questions, and ask them in public. Like why are we there? How long are we going to be there? Did we accomplish what we set out to do there? When can we bring our people home? What is the end game there? Can we at least talk about it instead of pretending it isn't happening?

What the hell has happened to America that we can have an invisible war going on for ten years that shows no signs of ending any time soon?

Is it rude and impolite to bring it up? Is it unpatriotic? When I bring it up, its the usual laundry list of reasons, none of which make sense anymore. I know who started it, but who will end it?

Should I just relax and enjoy it?

I know the question is asked here frequently, but all the answers seem to trail off into dogma and the war still rages on, all these years and dead people later.

Did we win? Did we do what we set out to do? Is there really a war over there, cause I sure don't see it. Is it a huge hoax? Is it fair to even call it a war?

Ask the average American about the war in Afghanistan and most haven't a clue. I'm an average American, and I have no clue whatsoever why we are still there a decade later. I have my suspicions and theories and I've heard the various explanations but I'm in the dark like everybody else.

I hate war.
