Fox News will kill you

I saw about 5 minutes as I surfed up to the weather channel

Christ on cracker pure lies and bull shit

Trump stopped the C-19 virus by stopping people from China coming here

Some E.R. "fox dr." saying if you listen to me you will never get C-19

C-19 can't really be transmitted in the air

Vaccines are "just about ready"

Mike Pence, we are going to be opening the country back up even sooner

Pence, we are targeting "hot spots" in order to stop C-19

Louisiana is seeing more patients now after they held Mardi Gras last month. Florida is seeing more cases after they refused to close beaches for spring break. Imagine what would have happened if they had taken it seriously & advised people not to gather in large crowds?

Republicans don't seem to take it seriously & their best efforts are to continue life as normal while trying to quarantine people from states with a high volume of patients. Before long, they will become one of those high volume states too & it's because of their inaction in serious situations & their over reaction to others.

It's like Gov Cuomo said that we can't be reactive, we have to be proactive. Right now, everyone is being reactive. Targeting hot spots won't work either because before long the entire country is going to be one huge hot spot, then what will we do?

Hey badass (insert poster name)! Go to your local hospital, or just check your local paper and get your local numbers.

Then multiply that by the 6,146 hospitals in the US.

Then take into account the extra numbers in the really big hospitals being built by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Then you should have a clearer idea of the numbers. Okay?

Then you'll see who gets the last LOL.

Thanks to the usual RW hate media sources and the backwater effluvium of social media, one reality believes, in cult-like devotion, that Trump and the Republican Party are the true saviors of a white Christian America. And in their minds, *everything*, including the unflinching hatred and oppression they advocate and foment daily, is their salvation. They decry education, deny science, and any facts/events that measurably reveal the eye-popping inadequacies of Trumpism. There is NO room for Democrats/liberals/progressives in this particular “reality.”

The other reality, in which Democrats and progressives reside, believes in fair play and common sense— ironically, two qualities that are completely absent in conservative belief. Here, education is valued, women are equal and must not be subjected to a (again, ironically) BIG government that wants to control their bodies, their healthcare, and by extension, their very lives. This reality also has room for, and a desire to embrace POC and LGBTQ folks. And there is an urgent need to slow down the devastating effects of climate change, which are already here.

Big problems: 1) Both of these realities have ossified— they will NEVER be in agreement and harmony, because they’re been increasingly compressed into their prime-number-level basics. The two differing positions and philosophies are incompatible and intractable.

2) The Democratic/progressive reality is under serious attack from the right. Old-school Soviet-style disinformation is trotted out daily. The president and Fox News exist in complete symbiosis. The hope for a free and fair 2020 election is guarded.

3) Just where/how the two opposing forces go from here is uncertain, but based on what’s known, there will be little or no compromise. One of these two realities will eventually consume the other, unless the two different Americas become two physically different countries (small chance of that happening)
It is imperative to GOTV for actual, objective, truthful REALITY ->->-> straight Democratic ticket, up and down.

One of the worst things that Reagan ever did was his getting rid of the fairness doctrine
which has allowed 2.5 generations to be bathed in an almost unending stream of false
information and half truths. And sadly Ailes and Murdoch set up Fox in such a way that
people who listen to it feel good because their own ignorance and biases to be reinforced
24/7.

From reading about it online one of folk's morning jerks .... Brian Kilmeade .... and some bald
headed english twit who I saw 10 seconds of .... both of whom were on the air trying to correct
Dr. Anthony Fauci on virus and disease issues.

I don’t like it, but I get it. What’s genuinely worrisome is how quickly the *entire* Republican Party lined up behind Trump, in spite of his shady dealings; his infantile, sexist, racist and boorish behaviors; his flat-out hostility to a free press; and worst of all, his utter incompetence.

These are the SAME Republicans who were screaming that Obama was “trampling on the Constitution!”— and that was just during an ordinary day. The craziness that Trump and his lieutenants advocate is not only antithetical to the Constitution, it’s killing democracy. They’re licking their chops over having the entire country bend to their twisted will.

Republicans appear to be overjoyed with their fascist dictatorship— it’s as if they’d been hoping and waiting for it all their lives.

Thanks for your kind words, Yeehaw. And a very belated welcome to DU.
