"SNIP.....

“The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida is doubling every three days, putting the state on a trajectory to see tens of thousands of infections in the coming weeks,” a Tampa Bay Times analysis shows.

“Florida remains one of the few states with a large outbreak not to issue a statewide order to keep residents at home. Several counties across the state, including Hillsborough and Pinellas, issued ‘safer at home’ orders in the last week.”

The only way to stop it is to quarantine new cases and contacts plus enforce social distancing

is probably the best -- masks for everyone. Not surgical / N95, but a home sewn mask must be worn at all times would probably bring R below 1, and allow testing to actually do something -- tracing.

Because it first appeared The Villages were a hotbed of denial a couple of weeks ago, I've been checking their little local newspaper every few days and it appears they're starting to pay attention.

See: https://www.villages-news.com/

These are some article briefs from today:

35 Villagers test positive for COVID-19 and most have been traveling

Sumter County reported its 40th positive Coronavirus test – including 33 Villagers – on Saturday as the number of victims soared past 4,000 across Florida.

Small number of tri-county residents have been tested for COVID-19 virus

The 96 cases of COVID-19 in the tri-county area – 35 in the Villages alone – have been identified among the 1,798 people who have been tested locally for the potentially deadly virus.

The Recreation News will continue to be published despite a cessation of virtually all recreation activities in The Villages due to concerns about the Coronavirus.
