Trump has shown his incompetence and petulance in many very clear and irrefutable ways -- but if the s.o.b. actually sent California a single load of ventilators that he knew were broken -- and sent them as an act of spite -- then this would be the biggest story of the entire pandemic. But there is not nearly enough information in the story to point a definitive finger at Trump and/or his worthless lackeys (talking about you, Stephen, and you Jared).

Also, if other States, including red States, also received broken ventilators, then that is the story and it should be thoroughly investigated and receive prominent national coverage, as well.

There's just not enough information here to know if this was deliberate or just slipshod management -- of which there seems to be a lot in this Administration.

They never mentioned this aspect of the story. They just said the ventilators were expired and/or out of warranty. The Governor and the Mayor of San Jose were at Bloom Energy talking about Bloom Energy ramping up an assembly line ang getting the equipment operative.

Trivial digging shows that "today" is 3/28/20, but I can't find a date in this text. The press-release is 3/28/20, and today's 3/28/20, so unless Yahoo new article provider is psychic or a prophet ...

There are 12,700 ventilators in the stockpile (or were), plus more that were past warranty, according to this. I think I'd suggest "past expiry date", but maybe they're the same thing.

Oddly, Newsome asked for 10,000 of the ventilators. Leaving 2700 working ones for the rest of the country. Doubt that request *should* be honored.

After that, it becomes PR.

The tweet seems to make an unlikely claim. Rather hard, sorting through them, finding just the broken ones. Lot of work, and I doubt that the low-level staff would look favorably on that process. Now, past their useful dates, *that*'s possible.
