Something I did two weeks ago to prepare a bit.

I live in this suburbs.

I called the local dairy and got on their delivery route. Yes we still have them around here.

I get my milk eggs and cream delivered each week. I have tried to order meat but I was new and I don’t think I gave them enough time to get me on the schedule, so that part has been unsuccessful. But I am hoping to get it this week. I could also order bread and bagels and other items if I wanted to.

Had a bit of a tiff with the husband over it, but I went ahead with it. Wanted to do it before they were not able to accept new customers. He is now glad we have done it.

Wanted to share, as it may help others.

to be supplied with fresh produce throughout this season. My CSA has started a drive-through at the farm, where they pack up the veggies and bring them right out to the car.

Distancing, of course. Mine opens on Mothers Day. Can't wait!

I did CSA for years and got saddled with a lot of weird, bitter tasting things I didn't want, and very few staples such as onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. In fact, I shared it with two people and we always (politely) argued over the normal stuff. Believe me, it was far beyond the odd bit of kale, we didn't even know what some of it was!

flexible than some. Fortunately I live in an area where there are several to choose from. I do understand what you mean, having gotten stuck with a lot of okra at a previous CSA, when that is one vegetable I never choose to buy. But on the whole, I have been really happy and have certainly tried quite a few things I might not have bought (or might not even have known about) but ended up liking.

I’ve done more delivery plus I hired my favorite waitress, now unemployed, as my personal shopper. She’s a trained home caregiver and knows how to protect herself. Helps her, helps me.

Just reporting that it worked, but took a week, and the actual Costco is all of 4 miles from where it got delivered.

We are not being part of the chasing it down in store crowd, that is going to kill MORE people.

Motivated by not being in the low risk crowd, yes indeed!
