It looks like "panic buying" is leveling off...

I went grocery shopping on Thursday morning, and saw a lot of full aisles at the store.

Toilet paper can only be bought, two packages at a time, still.

But the store had milk, bread, canned goods, it looks like the "panic buyers" are back to "normal," looks like.

No legitimate chain or local store will do that. Report them, especially if your state has an official emergency declared.

I know there are more paper mills than you can shake a stick at in Wisconsin, so I expect a good number make TP.

Frozen foods, dairy, paper products, soap, all decimated.

Signs are up for "2 per customer" but shelves are still empty.

We got toilet paper by calling ahead to Dollar General, finding out when their shipment was scheduled, and arriving at the store as they were stocking shelves. Luck and timing. Bought eggs at the Citgo gas station convenience store. All of the "outliers" apart from the regular supermarkets.

have existed. Of course the average age here in central Florida, and thus life experience, is elevated, so perhaps that accounts for it.

A neighbor did angrily complain just yesterday about people fighting over toilet paper, but when I asked her which store and if she tried to referee or just watched in amazement, turned out she was just imagining it happening somewhere to complain about.

In any case, it looks like the waves of new awareness in 130 million households that they needed to stock up for sheltering at home are mostly finished. We've mostly completed that giant national, shelf-emptying task and have progressed to replenishing.
