was most instrumental person in the FDR administration that helped champion the New Deal.
She is beyond being called a giant in my opinion for what she did at the beginning of the last century and through out her life to and for the worker and what she wanted and got for working human beings if and when they got fired, laid off or some other unforeseen event happened like a World War.
It was her and her tenacity that we would have unemployment insurance tonight republican again are balking about you and me and those in the future do not get unemployment insurance during this pandemic .
She also championed the idea that we should have Social Security, so that those like her in her and generation and future generations standing in soup lines, or standing with a cardboard advertisements strapped to one body begging for work, she said enough is enough.
Her history within this country makes her absolutely remarkable and yet today the senate libertarian republicans today and from those days gone by are balking on the unemployment insurance.
And since my wife is one of thousands that is on this program, who help insure that program by the work they accomplish so that they and there employer pay into that fund to protect the worker.................is under attack again by fascist and there libertarian republican leaders, that took almost ten days and now counting to provide relief for families like myself and others that serve this country with honor and only ask for a fair shake in this republic in our time of stress and need.
I honestly believe that the democratic leadership, should be in the front of the cameras right now and ask , why would senator making $187,000 a year or in a leadership position making over $225,000 with health care benefits and a tenured pension being so lacking in empathy..............who dos that remind you of a psychopath in the white house.
Thank you for letting me vent my rage ...................November 3, 2020 cannot and I repeat cannot get here fast enough...................my memory is very long......................

(693 posts)During her time in office, the wait staff and domestic services industry overwhelmingly employed non-white Americans and because of this waitresses, maids, butlers, nannies and other personal service providers were not allowed to participate in the fiscal benefits of the New Deal...

(14,181 posts)Thank you for the information I did not know and speaking out in defense of the common folk.
Fascists hated the new deal and sure as shit if they win the election and manage to install trDumpie for a second term. The first thing they will do is use the trDumpandemic obscene corporate bailout and give away as a valid reason for a emergency austerity program.
What will an emergency austerity program entail ?
ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS,..

(58,785 posts)way after from histories. She was also part of a Democratic party and administration that were constantly under attack by anxious people who didn't inform themselves about what they were doing or why but, I guess since they didn't know, constantly assumed it was nothing or imagined it was wrong.
I'm afraid I may not be alive for histories of what we do after we finally get power away from the Republicans and start rebuilding, but I'm with you all the way about November 3. It's been a horrible wait.
