(53,743 posts)We must have read a different version of the bible. Mine also said something about hypocrites, who pray in public to get attention.

Copeland, Pat Robertson and their ilk are CBR - Cash Based Religion.
Judas was an early modern day conservative disciple.
Judas got 30 pieces of silver, but just once, for selling Christ.
Copeland, Pat Robertson, Jim Bakker and their ilk get millions of dollars repeatedly for selling Christ.
Judas was a fool for doing a one-time sale.

(1,549 posts)That gets the IRS out of the business of deciding whether something is a religion, and also gets the real estate back on the local property tax rolls. That last is the biggie for the wealthier churches.
Also hold them to the same truth in advertising laws as any other corporation.

Reminds me of Jim Bakker on his knees in the 70s on the TeeVee begging for $500 checks from grandma.

The Prosperity Gospel is evil.
They have taken over the White House.
They have prayer meetings everyday.
They are nothing but liars and large scale grifters.

(11,797 posts)...he is to Christianity what ISIS is to Islam. But, the Lord said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. So, he and all his millions, and the plane he bought from Tyler Perry will all have their day. I suspect it wont turn out the way they think it will.
