Interesting comparison between a (R) Governor and a (D) one.

A comparison in number of confirmed cases of people with the corona virus in KY (with a Democrat as Governor and TN with a Republican as Governor.

5. I'm sure it was an inadvertent error; I just hate to see the GOP insult work its way

into our vocabulary - even accidentally.

3. We dodged a lot of bullets with Beshear here in KY

His narrow defeat of Matt Bevin (who had made fun of virus concern in a tweet) has had more positive "election consequences" than anyone even thought of!

Sorry about TN.

7. Isn't there a new democratic governor in KY now?

He beat the incumbent Republican in a squeaker of a win, if memory serves me right. You gotta give the guy time to perform. I believe his state legislature is still Repub in both houses. His only weapon might be executive orders like it was for our governor, Jay Inslee, who had to resort to issuing them in order to budge the logjam and get anything done for our state during his first term.

PBS did the right thing comparing governors in two red states, rather than resorting to a sensational hyperbole, like comparing the governor of Florida or Texas with the governor of Washington or California. That would come across as wildly partisan and as fake news by Red Staters. This approach was more balanced, in my opinion.

8. Yes there is a new Governor in KY. And he is a Democrat. And Yes it was a squeaker.

But he has been doing a great job as Gov and has done his best to stay on top of this pandemic. And it seems to be working. (Also note that KY has its gubernatorial election in off-years, so Bashear has been Governor since December, 2019 before the Coronavirus was even heard of.

9. Yes, we have a Republican governor here in TN

And yes we are inundated with MAGA idiots, but the comparisons between the two states is way too early. The population of Tennessee dwarfs Kentucky. The Nashville metro area is huge and half the cases in the state are located around Nashville. The state could be doing better, no doubt, but those of us on the front lines here are holding our own.
