Is anyone else

looking at local/state/other country sources more than at trump and pence to be informed about the pandemic?

i just watched Cuomo's press conference, and now I'm fixing to watch Manitoba's update. I've also watched Jay Inslee more than once, Los Angeles when they announced the school closings, etc.

I don't trust pence to tell the truth. I'm beginning to have doubts about even the scientists they bring on. their number one is protect trump and fuck the country.

I'm also looking at my county and state pages, WHO's briefings, the Johns Hopkins dashboard. By the way the numbers are never up to date because they move too fast. This is like nothing ever before in my 64 years, nothing even in my parents' lifetimes. My father was born the year after the 1918 flu and my mother in 1925. Both long dead.

I'm talking to my children about it and need to write a will asap, because if i do get it there's a fairly good chance it will kill me. My son works in a grocery store and is going to work as usual. He tells me everything is disappearing before the next truck. I'm hopeful we're well stocked at least until the panic dies down and supplies are more plentiful.

Stay well DU.

but we have the worst possible majority legislature possible. NC. Mark Meadows, Burr, Tillis - at the state level they all measure down or worse than those 3.

There is an info page and the numbers keep rising daily. Tests almost impossible to get. Lots of fox watchers and apathetic people who think it's all being sensationalized. i hope they get to say i told you so down the road, but the only way that's even possible is if we follow the guidelines now.

Not only our NC criminal leaders but the ignorance of our population will make NC worse than Italy. Early voted and a middle age husband wife behind discussing, actually she was being giving orders, as republican's to vote Bernie because in their mushy little brains think he will never beat tRump. That is their playbook. Cooper was stripped of power by those fools you just mentioned. Burr at times exhibited a bit of a brain. Meadows is pathetic. Actually cosponsored a bill to shut down Oteen VA hospital, rated one of the best in the country. When I go to VA, 85-90 percent Meadows/tRumpers. All red states will suffer the worst but will vector the pathogen country wide.

There's also a stubborn minority of loud cult members who don't believe anything a Democrat says (hate to say, that's kind of me on the other side! but then republicans have been lying forever so I have valid reasons for my distrust). those people are everywhere. Then there are the apathetic, comfortable people who don't vote, don't pay attention to the news, and don't care. I know my son in CA thinks it's overblown. All I can do is talk to him reasonably. They're getting their info from Trump and Rush and are unlikely to consider other sources. It'll be interesting to see what happens when they and/or their loved ones get infected because they all rushed out to a crowded restaurant for chicken wings.

Agreed on apathy, as well. There needs to be a middle ground between panic and nonchalance. There seems to be a full supply of both at the moment. Take precautions, understand the concerns, understand the need to flatten the curve, and deal with it best we can.

So this is what's really maddening about the incompetence, greed and corruption driving trump's response. If you're not tested by the time your body has cleared it you will never know, your case will not be counted...this could be true for thousands upon thousands of people.

at any rate, I'm glad you didn't get a worst case! and really hope you are able to confirm it at some point. For instance, I think a test may be being developed to identify antibodies to COVID-19, which could confirm that you did have it. It seems I read or saw something along those lines.

After the second day of this I woke up with my pajamas and bed covers drenched but the fever had broken. That night I started to feel feverish again but was able to manage with Advil. The next day I was weak but definitely on the other side of it. In the middle of all this my doctor was suddenly out of the office for over a week. Needless to say I wasn't ever tested for Covid19. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson came out with their Instagram post a few days later and I realized they had the same symptoms. Initially I thought it was the flu because I wasn't coughing also they just announced that the urgent care that works in tandem with my physician was supposed to start testing today but can't because they didn't get their supplies and now have to wait on the CDC. What Trump is or isn't doing in regards to this pandemic is criminal.
