Stupid question

I try and keep up with political trends, with particular interest on what our 'friends' in RW La La land are doing but I have to admit something I saw yesterday has me stumped:

Driving in the Tampa Bay area I was passed by the usual Billy Bob in his coal-rolling, no muffler pickup. Nothing particularly special about that here in central Florida. But what has me puzzled is a huge flag he was flying from the tailgate. It was the American flag but all red removed and instead some black and some blue stripes.

Will someone be kind enough to put me out of my misery and explain the "significance" of this flag?

2. People with that one hate the US and so they desecrate its flag

I usually assume they are from Bretagne....



But then a closer look reveals that they are too fucking stupid to realize they basically copied a flag from a region of France.

that even a blind pig can find a nut from time to time. I'n told it's to honor fallen Police or First Responders.

9. It's still flag desecration

Altering the US flag to suit one's purpose or agenda is inappropriate among persons who respect the flag.

If they don't respect the flag, that's fine, it's a free country. But that doesn't change what they have done - i.e. to alter the flag to suit something to which they claim a greater allegiance.

As noted below, it is basically a racist sign, and you will usually see it among collections including the Gadsden flag and the Confederate battle flag.

I saw a "Back the Badge" sign on a truck in a July 4rh parade with signs for all the GOP candidates for 2018. I told my wife it was a racist group and she took the sign down when we got home.

Her father, brother, and mother all worked in law enforcement and we were naïve to think it was something innocent.
