How come they didn't mention Chris Mathews telling a college coed who was a reproductive rights activist that "With that mini skirt and being the condom girl on campus, you must be busy on Friday nights!"

Rich guys in expensive suits who had a number of employees cost them money and bad publicity in recent years, and Tweety was on the wrong side of the cost/benefit calculation.
The "cancel culture" at work here isn't the one Mahar was so eager to rant about. It was the same old one that networks have operated under since the time they went into business: expected revenues don't justify expected costs, so that's all, folks!

(20,628 posts)and I am personally familiar with a number of incidents of male employees being shown the door after particularly and decidedly misogynistic remarks either to or about women in the workplace, and upper management made the clear decision that they were more trouble than they were worth, leading to their immediate dismissal.

(51,513 posts)Unfortunately, he also puts on right wing guests, and sometimes lets his misogyny surface. He's like a lot of progressive guys I know, except he's funnier. If I cut off every friend who ever said anything sexist, I'd be a very lonely person.
