You may want to pull up a chair and pour a cup of Joe. I'm not even going to try to recreate this thread.
There is so much in 600 pages that I'm just gonna start firing.
First up: Jeff Sessions old partner Richard Burt flipped. 🔥

(13,776 posts)Mueller was never going to make the decision to go to trial himself, and Trump was never ever going to be removed as long as the Senate is controlled by McConnell.
So for this evidence to come out now, in my opinion, kind of refreshes the whole report and makes it fresh and new; talking about it won't be rehashing old news for the zillionth time like the GOP is always doing to Hillary and her emails, or Biden and his son's business dealings.

(16,420 posts)a LOT more there.
Examples
1. Manafort worked with Hannity on the Devin Nunes coverup of treason
2. MAGGIE HABERMAN was MICHAEL COHEN'S MEDIA CONTACT. (Yes, nothing says access journalism and Pulitzer Prize like cultivating the Russian Mob for juicy updates on what Genovese crime family fronts are up to. SCOOP!)
3. There are some new names in this batch of Mueller 302s: Josh RAFFEL, who ran PR for Jared and Ivanka.
4. Jared Kushner's exec assistant Catherine Vargas: new name, almost all redacted.
5. There is also quite a bit of info about Ted Devine who was Bernie's manager.

(42,641 posts)The real problem is that 38-40% of the US population lives in a fact free universe.
MelissaB
(16,420 posts)I agree about the fact free universe.
Moostache
(9,895 posts)38-40% are what I consider to be hard core Trumpers - a mishmash of Birthers, Tea Party Racists, zealot Republicans and conservatives more interested in their personal wealth and taxes than anything else in the world...
But there are also 10-15% of the population who are neither right nor left, neither alive or dead...the great "centrist / undecided" voters...and these people tend to be the ones living off of information from social media or 'gut feelings' like who they would rather have a beer with instead of nuanced policy positions or geopolitical views. These people are just as fact free as the rest...
And I have to be honest, there are a good number of people on the left who also tend to be fact-free. This grouping is a far smaller one, but even if its 2-5% of Democrats, it pushes the numbers of fact-free voters into the majority of the country with ease. And the media is all too happy to play to the lowest common denominator crowd regardless.
So many people are utterly fact-free or confused easily because it is actual WORK to remain informed and aware of issues and consequences of policy beyond the 12 second sound bites and 12 minute talking head shouting matches that masquerade as journalism on the TV box...

(42,641 posts)And to that point, studies and polls show that many voters pay no attention to politics prior to Labor Day.
And the US corporate owned media plays a part as well. There is far more coverage of murders, fires, and crashes than of anything else.

(73 posts)Mueller had his chance and blew it. How will this information make any difference at all?
Moostache
(9,895 posts)His report was damning and his conclusions DID NOT EXONERATE Trump in any sense. Even if they had used his work as the basis for additional articles of Impeachment, the GOP Senate made it abundantly clear that they killed the rule of law and Trump is going to skate for any and everything he did and will do.
Mueller did the job, he did not bother with selling the conclusions because he knew from the inside that the outcome was never in real doubt and that McConnell was going to see to it come hell or high water.

(15,751 posts)People like Mueller, Pelosi, Warner and Burt, etc. have understood for a long time how this process was going to unfold over a long period of time.

(520 posts)It's so heavily redacted that it's hard to follow, but it's clear there was a lot more to the Mueller investigation that nobody ever heard about.
