engaged in money laundering

President Donald Trumps son Eric is attacking a Scottish Green Party leader after he called for an investigation into the money behind a land purchase.
Lawmaker Patrick Harvie said there were reasonable grounds for suspecting that the US president, or people he is connected with, have been involved in serious crime, said The Scotsman in a report.
Scottish publication The National quoted the younger Trump attacking Harvie as an irrelevant and spineless politician.
During the weekly questioning of leaders, Harvie explained that there were still big questions over Trumps business dealings.
The purchase of the Menie Estate and the Turnberry golf resort were part of Trumps huge cash spending spree in the midst of a global financial crisis, while his son was bragging about money pouring in from Russia,' he said. The US House Of Representatives has heard testimony that states: We saw patterns of buying and selling that we thought were suggestive of money laundering.

(82,849 posts)Seems to me that Mr. Harvie has more moxie than you and your whole miserable family combined. You want to put these questions about your crooked family's finances to rest? Make a full disclosure of your financial dealings, you, your worthless brother, your feckless sister, and your totally useless father.
Maybe you could set up a charitable entity to . . . Oh yeah; never mind.

(6,095 posts)if a Democrat was doing it and we know it. The media give them so much freedom and hold the democrats to a different standard by letting the republicans define what is allowable. The media let them whine, lie and rant until the democrats stop being able to hold legit oversight. Its called bullying on steroids! And so far it works because the monied elite and protected and happy as long as Democrats do not have enough power to affect their bottom line.

Or alternatively BoJo could use this in trade negotiations and throw gangster style back at him (you got a nice golf course there, shame if we had to sieze it through something like, you know... An unexplained wealth order...)

(10,303 posts)1. Is there reasonable cause to believe that Donald Trump owns Turnberrry Golf Course? Yep.
2. Is the value of the property greater than £50,000 ? Definitely yes.
4. Is Donald J. Trump a "Politically Exposed Person"? Oh yeah, definitely.
3. Are there reasonable grounds for suspecting that DJT's income was insufficient to be able to buy said golf course? That is the question I don't know the answer to for sure... but given that DJT doesn't want to disclose his tax returns, then I smell smoke...

(23,926 posts)golf course in Northern Virginia (not a bad track, but as you would imagine, green's fees are hugely inflated).
At one point, Eric, and what I suppose amounted to his entourage, walked behind us on the cart path right behind the stands next to the 16th green. A buddy of mine shouted down, "Hey, Eric!" When he looked up, my friend continued, "Are you as dumb as you look?"
Eric was not pleased.
