DOJ says sentencing recommendation for Stone is too extreme - will change guidelines today

The DOJ is changing its sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone, according to a Senior DOJ official.
“The Department finds seven to nine years extreme, excessive and grossly disproportionate," the source said, adding the DOJ will clarify its position on sentencing later today

Crime pays in this administration. The Senate gave him the green light last week.

If Trump gives him pardon, Stone can be brought into court or congressional committee and cannot take the 5th or found to lie or its back to prison. So its better to get his sentence reduced.

The prosecutors can't go to court, argue for a sentence only to have the POTUS say they can't ask for that sentence. He has NO AUTHORITY. This is not how the DOJ works. There is no position to "clarify". The court shouldn't even accept a "clarification".

I'm just shaking my head. "The Department" is who issued the recommendation, FFS.

House Democrats messed up royally. I'm sorry. They did.

It's not like he's a Democrat.

Those thugs will excuse any crime in the world as long as one of them committed it.
