4. Watching it on DirecTV here

Are you having weather situation in your area?

Option: if you can stream abc through signing into your DirecTV account, you can still watch.
Spoiler: Laura Dern just won Best Supporting Actress.

5. If you can, check your dish

Way back in the 1990s when I first got DirecTV, I had a sudden total signal loss. I'd had the service about a month and we were just getting into fall and this was one of the first cool evenings

The DirecTV tech went through all kids of troubleshooting - we checked the wires, rebooted the box, started the TV over again, nothing worked. So the tech asked if I could see the dish from my house. Sure, I said, it's right outside the back door. So I got out a flashlight and opened the back door. EEK! A lizard had been sitting above the door and jumped on my head!

After I got the lizard off my head and safely on a bush near the door, I shone the light onto the dish - and totally lost it. When I could stop laughing - while the tech was asking if I was OK - I explained that a frog was sitting on the LNB. It was nice and warm compared to the cool night air. The tech asked where I lived - in a jungle? I told him I lived in Florida so this was sort of normal.

I got out a broom and knocked the poor frog off the dish and the signal was great. We never had a frog on the dish ever again and never had a total loss of signal again. I guess it was just one of those flukes!

11. Yeah, you don't want to be attacked by lizards when you step out the door!

13. You can monitor their outages here......

Outage.Report - DirectTV

Link: https://outage.report/us/directv/map

(snip)
Received 25 reports, originating from Chicago, Newburgh, Elk Grove Village, Cuyahoga Falls, Cleveland and 12 more cities

If you're having trouble with a different provider, click on "Companies" at the top and then select "Outage Map" for your company to see their outages.

If we look at Spectrum right now, they're still having huge problems, mainly in the Northeast: https://outage.report/us/spectrum/map

(snip)
Received 392 reports, originating from The Bronx, Chicago, North Hollywood, Schenectady, Woodstock, and 152 more cities
