Trump to award Presidential Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh

President Donald Trump plans to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the highest civilian award in the U.S. – to conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh after learning of his advanced cancer diagnosis, the president told television anchors at a private lunch.

Limbaugh, 69, revealed his cancer diagnosis on his popular radio program Monday afternoon, telling listeners that his treatment plan likely means “there are going to be days when I’m not able to be here.” A Florida resident himself, Limbaugh has repeatedly been spotted golfing with Trump at the president’s Mar-a-Lago beach club and dining at the clubhouse afterwards.

Trump told network anchors earlier Tuesday that he was saddened by the news of Limbaugh’s diagnosis and had extended a last-minute invitation for him to join the first lady in the gallery at the State of the Union, according to four people familiar with the conversation. The president also said he plans to award the Medal of Freedom to Limbaugh as soon as next week.

One person at Tuesday’s lunch said Trump appeared to be “ shaken up” by the news, and kept mentioning that he and Limbaugh saw each other in West Palm Beach, Fla. as recently as December, when the president was in town for an extended holiday stay.

If you look at who Trump has given it to, the medal has lost all it's meaning and I don't think that future presidents get that back.

Degrade everything we hold dear and piss all over it. We'll have to create a new honor to replace what this one once was.

Let's just ruin any awards and medals we have while we are at it. Take the real meaning out of them and toss them around like cookie crumbs.

Th PMF is NOT a palliative medal you give to someone to make them feel better because they are dying of something. This is like spitting on the medal and Limbaugh has deserved nothing to deserve it, except in the cheap, superficial cesspool of Trumponia.

You would expect a cheap low-class actor/pretender to do something like this, but boo and hiss for desecrating the honor.

What's next? Oh, come on, what else can be cheapened and degraded enough to become something like a prop in a Three Stooges episode?

Every Act, every Executive Order, every "accomplishment" Chump brings about will need an asterisk of explanation and disavowal. 2016-2020 will be the scourge of history where everything that actually happened will be subject to question and scrutiny. Future citizens will look back in horror over what these four years have done to our country.
