It has been said, but it needs to be hammered into the public mindset. It needs to be repeated every few seconds by everyone who understands this:

AN INNOCENT PERSON WOULD WELCOME WITNESSES.

THE REPUBLICANS WOULD WELCOME WITNESSES IF THEY TRULY THOUGHT TRUMP IS INNOCENT.

Should be deemed to have something to hide!

Some witnesses will no doubt fight having to testify.

Seriously. I saw a trumpanzee say that on line.

They think it's all fake so there is no reason to cooperate.

They're political animals and more than anything else they want to get reelected (and install conservative judges... which they would get with Pence, so...?), but presumably they genuinely care at least a little bit about their country... right?

I don't understand why they aren't grasping at the legitimate, legal, excusable chance to replace a Republican president who is driving this country off the cliff of history with one who is at least compos mentis. Unless it's because Pence is as deeply implicated, but surely they could install him anyway. There wouldn't be time to impeach and remove him before the election. What's the downside to the GOP of ridding themselves of Trump?
