I'm going to hear all about how "Dems can't do that, it will harm people"
You mean like the fucking people in Puerto Rico who are having disaster aid withheld by the orange amphibian turd until they meet his demands to pay their workers shit wages?
You mean like a fucking ambassador that is being stalked and possibly fucking murdered...BY OUR OWN FUCKING GOVERNMENT?
You mean like people that will be harmed by a skidmark Attorney General hell-bent on destroying our constitutional republic?
You mean like LGBTQ people like my daughter who has to watch Fundy asshatted shitstain judges being confirmed for 50-60 year fucking terms?
You mean the fucking people like the thousands of children in fucking cages?
You mean the fucking people that will be permanently maimed and scarred by environmental protection and workplace safety rollbacks?
When is enough fucking enough?
At this point in our history, the short term harm shutting down our government would do to the economy is miniscule compared to allowing this crop of criminals to have one more fucking penny to spend.
The House needs to zip up the purse.
It's like when you have cancer. Chemotherapy is a fucking bitch, but you endure that pain because it's the only fucking chance you have to survive.
We are almost past that only chance. This interview with Lev Parnas is clear evidence that this fucking country needs to come to "FULL STOP" right fucking now.
You fucking think Ukraine is the only fucking shakedown extortion scheme this dipshit is doing?

(12,712 posts)I understand your points.
It is just funny that I am under the impression that shutting it down, in another sense, is what Trump and his enablers are attempting to do. That is, ending what we have to replace it with what they want.
Shutting it down literally would leave a power vacuum and nature does abhor them. If you think it through, that would not lead to good results at all and I am not advocating FOR the government, per se, here. I think it has diverged way too far from an expression of the common will for the common good and it caters primarily to special interests rather than our collective needs.
