She told oath breaker Moscow Mitch she wants the rules in place before she sends the articles to the Senate. I suppose something could change her mind but usually she means what she says.

(81 posts)JMHO...I'm agreeing with Senator Feinstein. The odds of getting the outcome we need from the Senate aren't in our favor. If Turtle kills or stacks the deck against impeachment, then I look at the GOP's behavior as providing the us enough fodder to knock a few Senator's off. The longer we sit on it, the lack of interest from the public will continue to fall. We could lose the impeachment and any leverage in framing an argument to flip seats in the senate.

One of these senators was Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley (R), who introduced a resolution to dismiss the articles of impeachment if House Democrats continue to withhold them. While Hawley and other Senate Republicans are seeking an outright dismissal, a number of Democratic senators including California Sen. Dianne Feinstein are asking for the delay to end and for the trial to begin.
On Wednesday, Feinstein broke from her fellow San Francisco Democrat in the House, telling reporters the delay makes the impeachment case against President Trump seem less urgent.
"The longer it goes on the less urgent it becomes," Feinstein said, according to Politico. "So if its serious and urgent, send them over. If it isnt, dont send it over."
Laura Litvan of Bloomberg News shared that Feinstein directly referenced Pelosi, stating If were going to do it, she should send them over. I dont see what good delay does.
I greatly respect Pelosi and her prowess in playing the game. Maybe I'm just impatient in wanting to see this come to a head.

(56,829 posts)Tillis in NC is vulnerable, as is Gardner in Colorado, Ernst in Iowa and Kobach in Kansas (if he gets the nomination)
Mark Kelly seems to have a good shot against McSally in Arizona
Mike Espy was close vs deplorable Cindy Hyde Smith in 2018, so could have a shot for the full-term.
Moscow Mitch may have a tough race this year - Amy McGrath is raising a lot of money and he's widely unpopular.
I like Jaime Harrison in SC - if anybody can flip that seat, he can do it. Still, he has an uphill battle.
Georgia has 2 senate seats up this year due to one senator retiring (Cancer?) - maybe Democrats can flip one?
Not too confident in Iowa as none of the Democrats seem to have caught fire, but I like Michael Franken if he can put it together?
Is Cornyn vulnerable in Texas? Not sure, but Beto is working on flippig the Texas House and that is driven by turnout, so hopefully that will help Democrats across the board. MJ Hegar has good credentials, but it's Texas and Cornyn won by 27 in 2014. Democratic primary is March 3 and it's a big field.
