John Dean on Don Lemon: Nancy should announce that she's holding the articles until

after the election and make it an election issue. Also talked about an impeachment case that went before the SC and the court wrote some language that said the trial must be unbiased and fair. But he definitely thought the first option is the way she should go.

Hold the fucking things Nancy, that's what Moscow Mitch would do.

And, a bunch of folks will have their undies in a bunch over it...on both sides of the aisle. Count on it.

Because if he's not, why would he be having nightmares about a Dem Senate.

And if he's reelected, then arguably holding the articles for nearly a year may have turned out to be a bad idea.

The public's attention span is limited. If the impeachment articles are put on the shelf for a year, people are going to start buying into the message that there is no "there" there. That would be wrong, but its a very real risk.

if not yet sent to the Senate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this Congress ends in January and any pending business expires. If this is the case the articles would need to be re-authorized.

a) Let McConnell conduct a kangaroo trial where Trump gets to preach that he's exonerated (remember: repeating a lie so many times makes it fact for Trumpers)

b) Withhold the articles and the Dem nominess will run against an Impeached President.

A House action to appoint managers would expire... but not the articles.

However... Dean is full of it. Court precedent is that the Senate can do whatever it wants in handling an impeachment.
