Should the Embassy workers be evacuated?

It sounds really hairy at the Baghdad Embassy.

They have no choice but to defend the Embassy, the largest in the world.

They should, at the very least, ask the workers if they would prefer to evacuate? If the Iraqi government cannot disperse of those attacking the Embassy, then what? Give them an ultimatum?

until the Marines land, or whatever. They're all built to the same very tough specifications.

Reportedly the Iranian-backed militia attack set fire to a second, inner gate, but did not enter the compound, much less the safe room. They're camped outside, though. Thinking anything but that these are all decisions for experts who've worked in this for years is for fools.

I am hoping Trump and his idiots, including his incompetent political hack Pompeo, let professionals in the state department do their job. But afraid not. As a distraction from the impeachment, this'll work a lot better if Americans become more worried that this could hurt them than on whether Trump & Co did something wrong.

I think a couple of helicopters at night might draw fire from the ground.

all built to the same very expensive specifications. (All before Trump anyway.)

For anyone who doesn't know, Benghazi wasn't a consulate. I don't think there was an American consulate at that time, just the embassy in Tripoli. The property in Benghazi was a few, virtually defenseless and empty buildings with an easily scaled wall around them, far from help in the middle of a civil war with over 5000 armed militia groups inside Libya alone. The ambassador's tiny inspection party made the fatal mistake of staying too long in one place outside Tripoli.
