3. I was hoping to see the gumballs raining down -- for effect.

Sure, let the host carry an umbrella for the torrent, but don't just leave those lies passive and contained in sterile-looking jars. The lies were fired at us as weapons.

Maybe put the >15,000 gumballs in a pneumatic gun and fire them at a shooting gallery target.

5. How long would it take for 15,000+ gumballs to fall from a 3" pipe?

Or to be rapid-fired, 1 at a time, at a target? Maybe have copies of the Constitution hanging and see them shredded by the lies.

People hear 15,000 and it just swishes right by. Let 'em see and hear those gumballs either raining down on an umbrella or fired like bullets and it might register.

6. Something to chew on

If a person chewed each gumball for five minutes, they’d have to chew for 1,284 hours and 25 minutes.

Said person’s jaws and fillings, etc. would be shot after the first twenty hours, so let’s say this is a job. If they chewed for a 40 hour work week, that’d be 32 weeks and 4 hours of full time chewing with no breaks.

9. Yeah, kinda gets at what it's like to undo the Gish galloping lies from tRump & gang

Frankly, I’m exhausted from a holiday of batting down the damn gumballs, and I’m cutting my losses as a result. I will say, that I have some hope as at least one family member won’t vote for tRump again because she’s concerned about her daughter’s future. And I’m glad that’s at least one more in the purple zone of my family. Finally got to be one gumball too many for her.

Eta: should be noted, there’s further hope as some of the topics have narrowed down to where we’re able to talk closer to the reality of what’s happening regarding impeachment. So, while I’m tired, I’ll keep calling out tRumpian bs when I hear it. It’s worth it, keep pushing back!

The other side of the political divide in my family. I’m still working on my dad, and he didn’t vote for tRump, so he’s a work in progress.

Dewsgirl, you are correct about the trends. I edited my previous post, as I was thinking especially about two uncles and one cousin - I just don’t have enough time in my life to undo all the gumballs they’re carrying around.

And didn’t do a great job of expressing the relatively narrow scope of the issue within my family. I’ve found more and more common ground, slowly. Is just those three that really aggravate me.
