Chance meeting at grocery store last night...

I observed a young woman, likely about 30yrs, checking out behind me; she had two long braids, dark blonde in color. She also had a strong countenance, sort of a square type face. Fairly serious type, but not forbidding.

I went to my car, loading my bags into the back sat.
The young woman came with her shopping cart to her car near mine.
I called out, "You remind me of Greta; I hope you take that as a compliment."
She called back, " I do."
We each went about our packing chores.
As I left the parking lot, the young woman with braids looked up, smiled and waved.

Two strangers connected for a few brief minutes, somehow strengthening one another, acknowledging common values.

Even in our fractured times, it's really pleasant to exchange a few words with a like-minded person.

I hope your holidays bring you joy!

I don't know how they would know this but they claim that children smile up to 400 times a day, while adults smile about 20 times.

The point was about how smiling does a person good.

Then again if they are counting babies as children, it may only be gas.

And there's a large man, who looks a little like Augustus Gloop from, "Willy Wonka," wearing a stereotypical German hat and ledehosen with, "Hansel," embroidered across the chest piece.

I'm in my 60s so you'll have to forgive me.

I thought you meant Greta Garbo! It wasn't until ten minutes after I read your post that it suddenly occurred to me that you probably meant Ms. Thunberg.

It's a generational thing. Or I'm just getting older and slower.

Anyway, Merry Christmas and thanks for your sweet story.

older than you. I know the name Garbo, etc., but never saw her act, and doubt that you did either, unless you're a fan of oldies. : )
Merry Christmas to you, my friend...

I think it's because I doubt that Trump seems never get severe backlash with his stupidity of our Global Weather Impending Disaster...Yea, I know he plays to the anti-environmental crowd...Even though I fully understand the crisis we are facing..I'm so drained from trying to explain to the Trumpers the imminent crisis we are facing...

I can't explain why I did not watch Greta or know who she is... but now I'm sorry I didn't
watch her..

How was she?..Like to hear what my friends here think.. Keep in mind I'm all in on the impending catastrophic situation we are now facing.

Had to look Greta up on Google, and there she was: 16 year old who won Time Mag Person of the Year..

..That Trump blew a gasket about...
