(21,606 posts)it must look like we are regaining our sanity here, although many of us never lost it. I'm sure they are relieved to see us taking action, even though he might be acquitted.
I heard an interview this morning on NPR with the editor of a religious magazine, Christianity Today. He is retiring in a few dsys and wrote a departing editorial, calling for the removal of Trump. His reason was a lack of morality that evangelicals should no longer tolerate despite Trump's alignment with them on abortion and 'freedom of religion.' How nice that he waited until he felt it was safe for him to take that stand.
So naturally, the impeached one and his evangelical allies are attacking the magazine today
As a European, I can tell you that the majority of us, are well aware of the nightmare you're going through.
I signed up in 2017, both to get a better insight into the Americans' feelings, and to offer some modest moral comfort. I am less present, yet I am quite active both in my own community and on Twitter. I share whatever I can, both ways.
Trump is a huge hazard for the whole world.

(21,606 posts)Unfortunately, it is not only our nightmare, but one for the rest of the world as well -- a hazard, as you say.
Since Trump and his followers here have parallel types in Europe on the far right, it feels like the world is getting turned upside down.
Sometimes it feels to me like a Pre WWII novel, except that I'm not reading it. I'm living it, with the positions of Germany and the US reversed.
The only way to get out of this nightmare and back to the real world is to fight back and wake up the ones who don't realize that they are asleep in a terrible dream.
